This is our third longest event in the Run The Civilisations series with an accumulation of 244km (2,437 years) needed to earn this lovely tablet. You can run or walk to add to your distance and you can complete the event entirely at your own pace.
The Andean civilisation began around 900BC with the creation of Chavin de Huantar in the highlands of Peru and lasts until the Spanish armies invaded in 1537AD.
Our fantastic Civilisations series tablets are double sided with exquisite designs and a timeline of the civilisation. For the Andean civilisation, we have used the bright colours that were common in Andean textiles. The 3D designs on the front show Machu Picchu, a 'poncho' style woollen design and an Andean mask. The timeline of the Andean civilisation shows us key events such as the creation of the Nasca geoglyphs and when the palace of Machu Picchu was built!
